You never know what you’re going to get when publicity is sent
out for a program or event. I received some great coverage this
summer for my Fireside Feasts historic cooking workshops over
at the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum. There was a major article
alongside a nice photo in a Brooklyn paper (in fact, it was then
re-printed, twice!), a full-schedule listing on a couple of websites
that target fans of historic foodways, a mention or two on various
blogs (other than mine, of course!), and so on. [see "Press"]
However, I had to chuckle today when I found a short blurb
in the recent issue (August 7) of another local Brooklyn paper.
It presented all pertinent info for this coming Thursday’s session,
which will focus on veggies, but instead of its longstanding
moniker, “Garden Goodies,” it’s called “Garden Noodles.”
Not sure how that happened, and it’s not a biggie that warrants
a complaint, let alone a retraction (no time anyway). I just hope
folks won’t be arriving at the Museum on August 13 expecting
to cook noodles, the “garden” variety or any other!
Besides, a shout out is a shout out, yes? Whether right or wrong,
good or bad? And at least all the necessary details (the who, what,
when, ‘n where) are correct. Although, no one will be eating “over
an open fire.” At least, hopefully not! lol But the rest is okay.
HUZZAH for that!
The “offending” culprit:

Hmmm…maybe that “Editor of the Year” award should be returned! lol
