Yesterday’s historic cooking activities with the students out at the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum were a huge success. We even got FAST butter. HUZZAH! And the weather was simply fantastic. We had a day of glorious sunshine that was one amongst the many, many recent cool and rainy days (16 of the past 20, I understand). [...]

Fast Butter

Tomorrow (er, today?) I’ll be doing historic cooking demonstrations for several groups of students out at the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum. This will be a first for me, as I usually conduct my workshops in the evenings or on weekends. Nevertheless, I’m sure it’ll be fun. After all, open fire cooking is my passion, and I [...]

Two simply fantastic programs in virtually the same week. What did I do to deserve this?! Whatever it was, I’m most grateful. “Remember the Ladies” was two days [...]

This will be the first time I’ve ever been to one of these. The focus will be on women and their day-to-day lives in the [...]

I’ve returned from the ALHFAM conference, tired but happy. I had a fantastic time. HUZZAH to the host site, Old Salem Museum and Gardens for a job well done. Next up, “Remember the Ladies,” at the Old Barracks Museum in Trenton, NJ. I’d post more, but frankly, I need sleep!

Tonight marks the end of this year’s national ALHFAM conference. All will be on their way back to reality tomorrow. The past few days have been highly productive, with informative sessions, fantastic weather, good food and even better accommodations. It’s been a smooth-running event overall. I’d like to personally give a loud “HUZZAH” to our [...]
