Tomorrow (Friday), I’ll be heading out for the next Big Event on my calendar:
the fifth annual “Remember the Ladies” Weekend, at the Old Barracks Museum
down in Trenton, NJ. This will be the first time I’ve ever been to one of these.
The focus will be on women and their day-to-day lives in the 18th Century.
It will be an interesting change for me, as I normally concentrate on the early
19th Century. And yes, there’ll be cooking, particularly at the Barrack’s own
brick bake oven. HUZZAH!
Now, I’ll be “roughing it” by staying at the Barracks, instead of in a hotel.
We’ll see how it goes! Fortunately, there’s a Marriott nearby, so if it gets
a little too “rough,” I may saunter over there. But, seriously, how often does
one get the opportunity to live for a couple of days 18th century-style?
With little, if any, modern conveniences?
Hmmm, this could be fun or…not! In any case, it’ll be an adventure.
So, dear readers, I will not be able to post anything for a couple of days.
I’ll give a full report when I return.
Now, I need to find some “period lighting” to take with me. Where
are those candles?
